Memoirs

Mir Mohammad Siddiq Farhang wrote these memoirs in his last years, alongside his history Afghanistan in the Last Five Centuries — turning to them whenever the hunt for documents stalled the larger book. With his health failing he worked to get the essential parts of both down, publishing the history before its closing chapters were written. He left the final stretch of the memoirs, and the preface in which an author tells his reader what he set out to do, for later. He died of a sudden heart attack while travelling to the Library of Congress to gather material, and the memoirs remain unfinished. Text in Dari/Persian.
