On the Wings of Fall

A novel by Fereshteh Mahdi. Its narrator had expected that getting out of Afghanistan would make her better, and that seeing Zabih would be the end of her grief — and neither looks like happening. The bitterness of the time she was left behind in Kabul turns out to carry enough force to overshadow the pleasure of seeing him again, and drain the colour from it. Text in Dari/Persian.
