The Folk Couplets of Ghor

Nabi Saqi's collection of do-baytis, which he counts the most important and most alive form of oral literature the people of Ghor possess. They arrive sometimes with the sound of the nay behind them, out of the mouths of shepherds, and sometimes in step with a dutar, from local singers and from anyone else who knows them — and they leave whoever hears them refreshed.
