A Treasure in the Breast of the Earth

Dr. Fariba Farhat Seifi on Sayed Nader Shah Kayani — a mystic who wrote poetry, or perhaps a poet who was a mystic. His life ran alongside Afghanistan's political upheavals: the displacements under Amir Abdur Rahman Khan, the exile years of Amir Habibullah Khan, the emirate of Amanullah Khan, the brief government of Habibullah Kalakani and his war with Nader Khan across Kabul, Paktia and Kandahar, and then the forty years of Mohammad Zahir Shah. He was the religious leader of Afghanistan's Ismaili community. Text in Dari/Persian.
