Mysticism in the Poetry of Sayed Nader Shah Kayani

Dr. Fariba Farhat Seifi's study of Kayani as a mystic with a burnt heart, the fire of which is plain enough between the lines of his verse. Belief in God surfaces in those poems very delicately: the God praised there is one that reason is not equipped to know, present in every place and at every time. In Kayani's mysticism, Seifi argues, the figure of an avenging and overpowering God gives way to a Lord who is light, mercy and compassion throughout. Text in Dari/Persian.
