The Folk Culture of Panjshir

Fazl-Ahad Ahadi's gathering of the oral culture of Panjshir — seasonal rites and communal ceremonies, folk belief, local games, riddles and proverbs, ways of making a living, religious observance, and the dialect and turns of phrase particular to the valley. Ahadi's argument is that war, displacement and modern life have thinned this inheritance to the point where writing it down is the only way to keep it.
