The Little Bazaar of Tashqorghan

Lee Gulpak travelled to northern Afghanistan years ago and wrote this story for children out of it, illustrated throughout in colour. Going along with Abdul and Shirin to the little bazaar at Tashqorghan, a reader gets a look at how people there worked and lived more than fifty years ago — down the rows of the blacksmiths, the potters, the glassmakers and tinsmiths, the spinners, the drapers and the rope-makers.
