The Bloody September

Engineer Mohammad Arif Sarwari's account draws its particular value from first-hand sources and from rare things the author witnessed himself — and it is told warmly, as if to a friend. It is hard to read any part of it, in the worst of the moments it describes, without finding yourself alongside the man telling it. Above every other merit, what the book carries is the story of a disciple who loses his master and guide, and who, for all that he fell short in none of his duties, has to live with it. Text in Dari/Persian.
