The Tajiks of Khorasan: History, Culture and Destiny (3-volume set)

Dr. Saheb Nazar Moradi's three-volume history. For anyone working in history or ethnography, he writes, the Tajiks' part in the making of culture and civilisation hardly needs demonstrating. His quarrel is with something else: the impatient habit of stripping peoples of their identity, and the cultural and historical appropriations advanced over the past century by writers working to commission from the Afghan state and echoed in the work of some neighbouring countries. Against that, sitting still is not an option, and what has been said about the history, language and identity of the Tajiks cannot be left unanswered. Text in Dari/Persian.
